What do you get when Berthoud Pass is closed for 12 hours during peak ski season, and on a Friday night?

Â
Well, you get empty ski lifts and a very happy Saturday, that’s what you get….
Â
And I’ve gotta tell you – it’s about this time of year when I don’t feel much like a mountain bike racer. Sure, the base miles are starting to add up, but I feel like I’ve been skiing more days than I ought to be, considering what’s just over the horizon…

Â
But alas, the first of the 2010 cycling gear has started to show up…
Â

Â
….Now if we could only get this snow to stop falling…
Â

Â
In other news, I hear the Stunt Double has been practicing yoga no less than 5 days a week lately….

Â
Which will be a key strategy as he takes on the 2nd annual Breck Epic this July (have fun with that, Stunt Double).  Because anybody who wants to take on 240 miles and 37,000 ft of climbing over the course 6 days has got to have some serious Ooooohm coursing through their veins, so he must be building it up.  And to think – I can’t even bring myself to register for the Firecracker 50. What a sissy I am…

You will register for the Firecracker 50. You will register for the Firecracker 50. You will register for the Firecracker 50. You will register for the Firecracker 50. You will register for the Firecracker 50. You will register for the Firecracker 50. You will register for the Firecracker 50. You will register for the Firecracker 50.
